The project is expected to lead to a 50% reduction in the amount of engineering hours spent on development and production preparation, improved production and manufacturability, reduced physical tests, as well as improved product and production quality. The project focuses on digitizing and automating parts of the development process by integrating digital tools from design via production preparation to assembly in an overall framework. AutoPack 2.0 develops design automation tools based on methods from machine learning, design automation and multidisciplinary optimization, as well as decision support algorithms and visualization tools.
